Privacy policy
Last updated 20 September 2026. Obie Digital is run by Stephen O'Brien. This page explains what this website collects and what happens to it. I follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What I collect
If you use the contact form, I collect what you type: your name, business, email, phone number (optional), your message and the services you tick. The form also records the page you were on, where you came from and any campaign tags in the link (for example utm_source or gclid), so I can see which ads and searches bring in enquiries. Those details are kept in a small file in your browser (a cookie named od_attr) for 90 days and sent only if you submit the form.
The site also uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see how people use the site. These use cookies and collect your IP address, device and pages viewed.
Why
To reply to your enquiry and to understand which marketing works. I don't sell your information and I don't send marketing emails you haven't asked for.
Who sees it
Form messages pass through Web3Forms, which delivers them to my inbox. They are kept in my email and in a private lead sheet. Google receives the analytics data described above. Some of these services store data overseas, including in the United States.
How long I keep it
Enquiries are kept while we are talking and for up to three years after, then deleted. Analytics data follows the retention setting in Google Analytics.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information I hold about you. Email stephen@obiedigital.co.nz and I'll reply within a working day or two. If you're not happy with how I've handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
