Website design NZ, for small businesses

Custom-built websites that show which enquiries they bring in

I build fast, phone first websites for small New Zealand businesses, host them, and trace every form and phone click back to where it came from. You deal with me from the first chat to launch day and after.

  • Tracked from day one, with a Data Studio dashboard
  • Hosted and looked after, month to month
  • Domain and accounts in your name

What's included in every website

The build

One-off, half up front

  • Designed and tested for phones first, then desktop
  • Fast to load, with no page builder bloat. My own site scores 100 for performance on Google PageSpeed
  • Ready for Google at launch: page titles, descriptions, headings, schema and a sitemap
  • Tracking on every form and phone click, and a Data Studio dashboard

After launch

Care plan, month to month

  • Hosting, with the security certificate renewed for you
  • Regular checks that the site and form are working
  • Up to an hour a month of changes, fixes and questions, by email
  • The domain, your Google accounts and the site files stay in your name

Every enquiry arrives with where it came from

Each form and phone click is saved with where it came from, such as Google search, your Business Profile, ads, social or a direct visit. Your dashboard adds them up, so you know which marketing is worth paying for.

Phone clicks and form enquiries

Tracked in your own Google Analytics from the day the site goes live, each one with the search, ad or listing that sent it.

The page they enquired on

So you can see which service pages bring in the work, and which need more attention.

Your lead Sheet

Every enquiry in a Google Sheet. Mark each one as won or lost and you'll see which sources bring in the work, not just the visits.

Your dashboard

Visitors, enquiries and where they came from in one Data Studio dashboard, ready whenever you want to look.

From first chat to a live site

  1. A short chat

By email or an evening or weekend Zoom, about what the business does, the enquiries you want and what you have now.

  2. A written quote

The pages, the price and the timeline on one page. Nothing starts until you say yes.

  3. The build

Half up front, the rest when it goes live. You see it on a private link and ask for changes. Usually 1 to 2 months, depending on the size of the site.

  4. Launch and care

The site goes live with tracking running, and I host and look after it month to month.

Website questions

How much does it cost to design a website in New Zealand?

Most small business sites in NZ cost from a few hundred dollars on a builder to $10,000 or more at an agency. I quote a fixed price in writing after a short chat, based on the number of pages, before anything is built. Hosting and care is a separate monthly fee.

How many pages will my site need?

Most small businesses need 5 to 7 pages, covering home, one page for each main service, a contact page and a privacy policy. A one page site suits a new business getting started. Larger builds of up to about 15 pages add pages for each location or type of job.

Do I own my website?

Yes. The domain, your Google accounts and the site files are yours. If you ever move on, I hand everything over. Hosting and care run month to month with one month's notice, so you're never locked in.

Can you redesign my existing website?

Yes. I can rebuild a Wix, Squarespace or WordPress site as a faster custom-built site, keep your domain and email working, and redirect old pages so you don't lose what Google already knows about you.

Will my website rank on Google?

Every site launches ready for Google: fast, with proper titles, headings, schema and a sitemap. Ranking for competitive searches takes ongoing SEO on top of that. Nobody can honestly promise a ranking, and I don't.

Can I make changes myself?

No, you email me and I make the change. The sites are custom-built rather than on a platform you log in to, and your care plan includes an hour of changes a month. If you want to edit it every week, Webflow suits that better and I'll say so.

Tell me which enquiries you want more of

Send me a few lines about your business and I'll reply within 2 business days.

  1. I reply with a few questions, and a look at your current site if you have one
  2. You get a written quote. Nothing starts until you say yes
  3. I build it and set up the tracking in your own Google accounts
