Small business marketing NZ

Marketing for small NZ businesses that win work from enquiries

If people ring you or fill in a form to ask for a quote, I can help. I build websites and run SEO and Google Ads for small New Zealand businesses, and every enquiry arrives with where it came from.

  • Tradies, contractors, accountants and start-ups
  • One person doing the work, start to finish
  • Accounts and code in your name

Six kinds of business I help most

Most of my clients are one of these. Pick yours to see what it usually needs first, so you can see where you'd start.

Tradies

Plumbers, sparkies, builders, cleaners. Most work comes from a Google search and a phone call, so the site has to load fast on a phone and your Business Profile has to show up in the map.

Usually starts withA website and Business Profile

Contractors

Earthmoving, fencing, landscaping, commercial cleaning. Jobs are bigger and fewer, so one good enquiry matters. A clear site with your past jobs and a quote form does the heavy lifting.

Usually starts withA website, then Google Ads

Sole-practitioner accountants

People search for things like "accountant for sole traders" and pick from the first few results. You need to show up for the clients you want, in the town you work in.

Usually starts withSEO and your Business Profile

Start-ups

You need to look credible from day one and learn what works before the money runs out. A small site that tracks every enquiry tells you that quickly.

Usually starts withA one-page website with tracking

Entrepreneurs and sole traders

It's just you, so time is short and every dollar counts. I keep it to what you need and tell you if something isn't worth it.

Usually starts withA website, or Google Ads if your budget suits

Whatever you do, you'll see where your enquiries come from

Every service comes with tracking. When someone taps your phone number or sends your form, it's logged with the search, ad or listing that sent them.

For a tradie

It might show most jobs come from the map listing, not the ads, so you put your money there.

For an accountant

It might show one service page brings in the clients worth having, so that page gets more attention.

What you get

Phone clicks and form enquiries in your own Google Analytics, each enquiry saved to a Google Sheet with its source, and one Data Studio dashboard you can check any time.

Questions small business owners ask

Which marketing is best for a small business?

The one your customers use to find you. For most small NZ businesses that get work through enquiries, that's Google: a fast website, a Google Business Profile in the map, then SEO or Google Ads. Tracking tells you which one brings in the jobs, so you can put more into that.

Is it worth hiring a marketing agency?

It can be, if you know what you're paying for. With me you deal with one person who does the work, you only pay for the services you choose, and tracking shows what each one brings in. If something isn't worth your money, I'll say so.

My business isn't on your list. Can you still help?

Probably, if you're a New Zealand business and your work comes in through calls, forms or quote requests. Send me a few lines about what you do and I'll tell you honestly whether I'm the right person.

I'm just starting out. Is it too early?

No. A small site with tracking from day one is often the best first step, because it shows you what works before you spend much. We can add SEO or Google Ads later, once you know what the business needs.

Do you work with regulated professions?

Yes, including accountants. Professions like law and dentistry have advertising rules, so I check your professional body's rules before writing anything, and you sign off every claim before it goes live.

Do I need all three services?

No. Take the one you need. Websites, SEO and Google Ads each work on their own, and SEO and Google Ads work on sites I didn't build. Every one comes with tracking and a dashboard.

Tell me which enquiries you want more of

Send me a few lines about your business and I'll reply within 2 business days.

  1. I reply with a few questions, and a look at your current site if you have one
  2. You get a written quote. Nothing starts until you say yes
  3. I build it and set up the tracking in your own Google accounts
